Welcome to C3 Bioinformatics at Harvard

Bioinformatics is a rapidly growing field involving all areas of biological research. High-throughput technologies have established themselves as indispensable tools for the study of biological systems from gene expression level changes and protein concentrations to their modifications and interactions in complex diseases and systems.  It is well understood that high quality research will depend on the availability of wide range of bioinformatics support and tools.   The objective of the Countway /CBMI / Catalyst [C3] bioinformatics team is to provide world class support to Harvard researchers in the form of education, service, collaboration and development. The Countway Library of Medicine is well equipped with training facilities and access to a wide range of software packages for analysis and visualization of high-throughput data.  The bioinformatics team consists of personnel with experience and training in bioinformatics fields.  The team’s mission is to help Harvard scientists during as many stages of their research as possible – from ad-hoc initial computational or experimental design to longer strategic engagements.

    Our Vision

With the advancement of bioinformatics, the need for researchers to interpret information embedded in complex biological systems continues to grow. We envision that our support program will develop into playing a leading role in training bioinformatics professionals and provides bioinformatics computational support services for Harvard Researchers. Our mission is to provide: 1. Education in bioinformatics research topics for Harvard students, postdocs and faculty. 2. Research support services of bioinformatics computational tools.
